About Us

Christina Pinilla, LCSW, C-SSWS

She/hers/ella

Christina has a holistic approach to treatment and believes that one size therapy does not fit for all. In adopting a strengths and interests based perspective when working with children and adolescents, she believes that the individuals need to choose the path they take in therapy. Additionally, Christina believes in empowering youth in their therapeutic journey and parent sessions are just as valuable as individual sessions with the youth.

Because of Christina’s strong knowledge of school social work, she can also help you navigate the ins and outs as it pertains to supporting your child in getting a 504 Plan or Individual Education Plan as well as advocating within those meetings.

Christina utilizes play therapy, interactive activities/games, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Solutions-Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) with children and adolescents and their families.

Lastly, Christina has specific expertise in supporting educators and education leaders in navigating the unique challenges in education right now and is particularly passionate about supporting educators experiencing burn-out in the field.

She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solutions-Focused Therapy, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) with her adult clients.

Strong partnerships with many Chicago Public Schools administrators, counselors, social workers, and other support professionals.
